The Bacon Factory is leading Australias’ revival of letterpress printmaking — a technology that transformed communication in the 15th century and is now a creative art medium of the 21st century. Our co-working space is first and foremost a letterpress workshop that sets the stage for all our creative and educational activities. Through The Bacon Factory’s innovative range of creative activities —our hands-on art & design workshops, Open Studio Access, visiting artists, educational partnerships with the creative industry, schools, and our collaborations with other arts and culture organisations—we are doing our part in supporting and developing an ever-growing Australian letterpress & creative community. The Bacon Factory is home to a co-op of Brisbane creatives with expertise in the visual arts in the form of custom letterpress printing, graphic design, photography, printmaking and art & design education. This creative mix of practitioners makes for a vibrant and energetic workspace.
